Please remember them and their families in your prayers.
With many thanks for your continued kind thoughts and prayers, especially with hopes of the Churches being opened soon, at least for private visits. Please continue in your prayers and kindnesses, often hidden and seemingly small, for those around you as we celebrate the Risen Lord who is with us always and has given us the mission of being his servants for our World, and lights of compassion and hope in these darker times. You might know of a parishioner in your street who doesn’t ‘do online’ and could print this newsletter and pass it onto them - keeping safe measures about social distancing and handling things we touch. If you are concerned about anyone please let Fr Tony know - our parish SVP are quietly running wonderful support.
MARY'S MEALS (message from Rosie Westcott, Volunteer for A & B)
As we all know the coronavirus pandemic is causing challenges for us all, and we are very sorry that we aren’t able to visit any churches at this time to share the Mary’s Meals story.
However, our founder, Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow, has recorded a special message for your parishioners. You can find his message, filmed outside the shed in Argyll where it all began for Mary’s Meals, here.
I hope you will help to spread the word about our beautiful mission by sharing it on your website or social media channels. A children’s activity pack, based on the story of Mary's Meals, is also available to download here.
We are keeping all priests, parishioners and churches in our prayers.
Special Masses for the Sick, their families, healthcare workers and carers each Thursday evening at 7pm.
Bishop Richard offered a Mass for NHS and Social Care workers, the sick and their families at Arundel Cathedral on Thursday evening. You can watch recorded footage of the Mass here.
The Masses are celebrated by a Catholic Bishop at 7pm every Thursday in one of our cathedrals.(See https://pnl.parishportal.net/category/about-us/mass-times-and-intentions for links).
On 24 March, Cardinal Vincent Nichols sent a message after the Prime Minister’s historic announcement (23 March) strengthening restrictions in an attempt to combat the spread of COVID-19 that all churches will now be closed for public and private prayer to keep people safe. His full statement can be read here
