FLORES DE MAYO FLOWER OFFERING FOR MARY The Flores de Mayo feast will take place on 25th May 2019 at the 5:30pm Mass. Everyone is invited, especially children, to join the flower offering procession at the start of Mass. Please bring flowers that you would like to offer.
FEAST OF THE ASCENSION The Feast of the Ascension is on Thursday 30th May and is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass times will be 10am at St Joseph’s and 7pm at Holy Family.
SCHOOL CHAPLAINS: TASTE AND SEE
The need for every Secondary School to have a full-time Chaplain and for Chaplaincy to be available for every Primary School was identified in the Pastoral Plan. To help this happen, Bishop Richard Moth and Father Stephen Ortiger, O.S.B. (Diocesan Chaplain Coordinator) will be holding a series of regional meetings for members of parish communities who would like to find out more about School Chaplaincy. These will run from 7 pm to 8.30 pm on Thur 6th June at the Sacred Heart, Cobham, Wed 12th June at the Holy Cross Priory, Heathfield, and Thur 13th June at St John The Evangelist, Horsham.

ST JOHN'S SEMINARY NEEDS YOUR HELP St John's Seminary has been involved in the formation of priests for England and Wales for over 125 years. It is now in need of help to refurbish and redecorate 30 of its bedrooms which have had little or no upgrading in over 40 years. The Seminary operates on a very tight budget and has no available funds to finance this much needed work which will cost about £2000 per room. ARUNDEL CATHEDRAL FESTIVAL OF FLOWERS The Festival of Flowers will be open to public view on Wed 19th June from 9.30am to 8pm and on Thurs 20th June from 9.30am until celebration of Mass at 5.30pm and the Blessed Sacrament procession to the Castle. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments are available throughout both days in the Cathedral Centre.
Epsom and Redhill Deaneries Initial Safeguarding Awareness Training will take place at St Ann's, Banstead, SM7 3AD, on Thur, 20th June from 7pm - 9pm. This training is for everyone but we are particularly targeting those who work with or minister to Vulnerable Groups. It is the expectation of the Bishop, Diocesan Trustees and Safeguarding Commission that this initial training is undertaken and refreshed every three years. CATHOLIC CERTIFICATE IN RELIGIOUS STUDIES In support of Bishop Richards’s Pastoral Plan, the diocese is planning to launch a Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) course, starting September 2019. The CCRS has been around since 1919 and aims to prove an introduction to Catholic theology and give an understanding of the central truths of our Faith. It will be open to teachers, catechists, people involved in pastoral and liturgical work and other interested adults.
