Message from Cardinal Nichols on the 'New' Mass
OPENING THE DOORS TO OUR CHURCHES
This week the Church will be open for the public celebration of Mass: (please note that social distancing of 1m plus a face covering must be maintained and the instructions for seating and movement within the church given by Stewards must be followed)
Fridays - 10.00am St Joseph’s
Saturdays - 5.30pm St Joseph's
Sundays - 9.00am Holy Family
Sundays - 11.00am St Joseph’s
Sundays - 5.30pm St Teresa’s
This week each Church will open for private prayer (please note social distancing must be maintained and instructions given by Stewards must be followed) Wednesday 5-7pm
Those entering are asked not to touch or physically venerate statues or other sacred objects.
Toilets and washing/baby changing facilities are to remain closed.
VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED
Fundamentally, what will determine the times and days our churches can be opened for Mass is the required presence of four volunteer stewards. Without these stewards present, a church cannot remain open.
Volunteers must not be from those instructed to shield themselves, nor from those under 18 or over 70 years old, or from groups considered more vulnerable to coronavirus. It is required that at least one steward at any time comes from a group that already exercises some role within the parish. Volunteers are also needed to be part of equally important socially distancing cleaning teams.
If you feel you can help please email the parish office with the subject line ‘Volunteer’. Pass the word around and ask others to do so also. Thank you.
Readers and Ministers - for the time being we will need to draw up a rota from those who feel able to come to Mass and are able to assist. Please email the parish office to indicate your availability
