The Parish of the Nativity of the Lord

50/50 Club

The club is one of the regular major fund raising activities in the year. Members pay £12 per year for each number they purchase.

As the name suggests, 50% of the income is distributed in prize money and 50% goes to support the Parish.

The draw takes place monthly, generally on the last Sunday of the month, with numbers drawn at random by computer.

Those interested in joining do so for a full year and subscriptions are collected in December each year in time for the first draw in January. We would encourage subscribers to pay by Standing Order or BACS, or cheque if you do not use online banking. If you are a possible new subscriber, or would like more information, please email  5050club.pnl@gmail.com and you will be allocated a number and be given the payment information.

Thought for the week

In the second reading of this Sunday, St John writes of the Christian vocation: “Loved by the Father, called to be God’s children living lives that will take us to see Him”. John invites us to think about the wonder of this calling, this journey, to think about the love that God bestows upon us. It is our life’s work to grow in our understanding and true appreciation of the depth and wonder of this gift. It is from this baptismal calling – for this journey begins there – that our very lives flow. This is the starting point for vocation, for discipleship
