The Parish of the Nativity of the Lord

Filipino Community at PNL

MISSION
To continuously support the Parish of the Nativity of the Lord, and actively foster Filipino fellowship and understanding among its members and other nationalities. This is to promote unity and cohesiveness in any church activities, using the parish facilities.

VISIONS
We believe in pakikipagkapwa and diversity, where people from different cultures treat each other with respect; and where individuals can realise their full human potential regardless of age, race, religion, nationality, colour, gender and sexual orientation.
We stand for paninindigan, where social, cultural, political and economic rights are respected; where relationships are based on equality; and where people actively work for a just society.
We believe in bayanihan, where people know their neighbours and work collectively in building strong communities.

GOALS
To align our group’s activities according to the Parish’s own objectives in strengthening and finding ways by which we call to live out the teachings of Christ in our daily life at home and at work.
Invite a greater number of Parishioners to be actively involved in our Parish life, sharing our faith with the children through our Parish schools and Day-Care Nurseries.
To foster a deeper understanding of the Filipino diaspora, history, cultural roots and identity by helping out the bereaved, assist immigrants and low income Filipinos to access services and resources and to know their rights.
To encourage Filipino Youth involvement, both in parish and community activities.

Thought for the week

Jesus knows us and loves us. If we remain in Him, we should not fear because every cross will be transformed into resurrection, every sadness into hope, and all mourning into dancing.
